Why transfer VHS to DVD?
First, DVD and Blu-Ray machines, along with computers, replaced VCR’s and other decks years ago. VCR’s are becoming obsolete and difficult to purchase. (To learn more click here.) Furthermore, 8mm and Super 8 projectors are nearly impossible to find.
Second, all tapes and film become brittle and damaged throughout the years. Ultimately they break. Although some tapes may be repairable, some are not. Additionally, if a repair is not possible, sadly your home movies are lost.
Third, transferring to DVD’s, your VHS, Hi8, Digital 8, Mini DV, audio cassette tapes and film reels, can be converted to a video file. The file is saved to a thumb drive which you can drag onto your computer. In doing so, his saves space and storage.
Lastly, home videos, once long forgotten about, make great gifts!
